Please Note:

It is important not to confuse what is called 'Immediate' aspirin with the daily, low-dose aspirin (75mg) taken to reduce the risk of a heart attack. 'Immediate' aspirin is a separate, larger dose of aspirin (300mg) taken at the very commencement of a suspected heart attack in which severe chest pain is experienced. 'Immediate' aspirin taken at the start of a heart attack can be life saving - even in a patient who has already taken his or her usual daily small dose of the drug.

In the vast majority of cases the symptoms of indigestion will have eased within 10-20 minutes of taking the antacid. If the symptoms persist, spread, or get worse seek immediate medical advice/attention in case it is a heart attack – DO NOT WAIT.
